qualitative comparative analysis

Definition

  • Qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) is an analytic technique grounded in set theory that allows for a detailed analysis of how causal conditions contribute to an outcome in question. It is particularly suitable for analyzing situations of causal complexity, that is, situations in which an outcome may result from several different combinations of causal conditions.
