Definition
- Spiritualism refers to a group of religious movements, more or less organized, whose adherents seek communication with the spirits of deceased human beings. Spiritualists believe that spirits can be contacted in gatherings called “séances” through individuals called “mediums,” that spiritual enlightenment results from the experience, and that séance phenomena scientifically demonstrate human immortality.
